Margaret River…home to more surf breaks and vineyards than could be poked at with a bottle of chilled Sauvignon Blanc, childhood stamping ground of Australian songbird Lucy Wise, location of the beachside home of one of Minnie Darke’s dear friends (where the fridge is reliably full of pickled herring)…and also home to the Margaret River Readers and Writers Festival.
Now that the festival’s fabulous program has been released, I can let you know that I'll have two gigs at MRRWF (an acronym which sounds rather like something that Star-crossed's indefatigable street terrier, Brown Houdini-Malarky, might say). The first event, on Friday May 3 at 12pm on the Voyager Estate Main Stage, is a solo ‘In Conversation’ with host Will Yeoman.
At the second, on Saturday May 4 at 12 noon in the Voyager Estate Writers Room, I’ll have the chance to chat in public with The Sunday Girl author, Pip Drysdale, as we each field questions from host Sarah McNeill. Apparently, I’m there to talk about love, and Pip’s there to talk about revenge. Between us, we should have hot and cold covered.
Visit Pip’s Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/pipdrysdale/, MRRWF at https://www.facebook.com/mrrwfestival/ and if you’d like to come see me, https://mrrwfestival.com/2019-festival/authors-presenters/darke-minnie/
